This is a formal presentation and examination process, usually part of an academic degree requirement-most commonly for a master’s thesis, doctoral dissertation, or sometimes a comprehensive examination for faculty or graduate students. It’s called a “defense” because you must justify your approaches, contributions, and impact to a panel of senior faculty or administrator. It is also a live, structured academic event where the candidate presents their research or scholarly work to a committee and answers detailed questions. “Together, we build a Future with Success and Confidence”
