INTEGRATED BASIC EDUCATION

Dr. Gloria Lacson Foundation Colleges believes in the importance of beginning a Filipino’s learning journey with the best possible foundation. Our K-12 program is just that! Our PRIME Program – for Progressive Instruction for Modern Education – introduces new methodologies for learning. We encourage experience, immersion, discovery, and critical thought. We believe these are the building blocks for producing not only good students but potential future leaders, scientists, and teachers – any and all the possibilities that lie ahead as they grow and develop.

Our proprietary platform called PRIME (Progressive Instruction & Modern Education) is our unique approach to K-12.

Pre-Elementary

Play-based learning is a child-centered approach. It focuses on the interest of the children. It encourages them to explore and discover. Teachers serve as facilitators of learning.

In play-based learning, teachers serve as facilitators. They present materials and encourage the children to interact with the materials. They facilitate learning by asking thought provoking questions. They help children understand the world around them by leading them to self-discovery process.

In the truest sense, play-based learning is a very progressive approach. Given that the school is under the DepEd curriculum and does not have the accreditation needed to deviate, the school is bound to follow the prescribed learning content. However, the approach and the strategies for the presentation of this content will be play-based.

From the traditional grading system (with numerical grades), we will change it to a Developmental Checklist. The checklist will contain 7 domains, following the domains of DepEd’s K-curriculum.
